Six months into the presidency of Joe Biden and it seems as though the nation is headed for a train wreck. Tens of thousands of illegal immigrants are coming through the Southern border. They are coming not just from Central America but from countries around the globe.

These undocumented people, many of whom are from countries with high Covid rates, are entering the United States because President Joe Biden said they could. They are here through an open border policy. They are often processed and sent to several states without local officials being notified, several Republican governors complain.

This is an illegal policy that Democrats nevertheless hope will be a political winner for them. That’s because it is expected they will be made citizens as soon as possible. Then start casting ballots for Democrats, especially in battleground states that are now nominally Republican.

Immigrants Pro and Con?

While America is a nation of immigrants, a nation that has traditionally taken in large numbers of people, the traditional way has been to do it under law. (My grandparents were immigrants. They came here around World War I. They came here as poor economic or political exiles. However, they entered legally, the same as most immigrants have).

These controversies are happening at the same time that President Biden’s physical and mental state is in question. It is reminiscent of other presidents whose health broke down in office—Woodrow Wilson in 1919 and Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1945. Americans, then and now, were told public lies because there is no public health record about them. More importantly, there is no public demand that the president be examined by the Surgeon General and the examination results made public.

However, there is no question that the president’s lawless immigration policy is an open border policy that welcomes anyone and everyone. Bad people as well as good people come since there are no more border controls.

This is amazing and frightening.

“Everybody, C’mon In!”

What country has this kind of anyone can come in anytime policy? What country could survive this lawlessness?
For example, I like Spain. Could my wife and I just walk into Espana without a passport or any papers and start living there? Would they welcome us and encourage us to apply for free health care and to start participating in Spanish elections?

Lo dudo!

It’s ironic. The mainstream media spent four years telling us that Donald Trump was a traitor and should be impeached yet never produced any evidence to prove it.

Indeed, even before Trump—a president I have mixed feelings about: I often liked many of his policies but many times I didn’t like the man—actually became president, there was trouble with the mainstream media. On election night 2016, when it was clear Trump had won an upset victory, Richard Engel of NBC News made some incredible charges. Engel said, to a panel of approving journalists, that Trump was being blackmailed by the Russians. Engel produced no evidence. It was a disgrace. This network felt no obligation to prove a charge made to millions of viewers.

Still, Congress would later undertake endless futile investigations over years seeking to prove Trump was a Russian agent and should be impeached. The result? Yes, one could prove that President Trump said and did some crazy things. But that he was “a traitor?”

Sorry, Trump haters, no one proved anything but that didn’t matter to some of them as one of them recently proved to me. I provided evidence to her that the second impeachment charges against Trump were ridiculous. (There was no chief justice presiding in the second trial as required by the constitution. Instead, one of Trump’s political opponents presided as the judge!).

Her response?

“I don’t care,” she told me, “just get him (Trump).”

Yet Biden’s anything goes immigration policy, which is endangering people in the Southern United States as Mexican drug cartels and some other seedy characters illegally enter our nation, are also coming. This is a clear violation of Biden’s presidential oath “to take care that the laws be faithfully executed.”

An Actual Impeachable Offense?

There’s no debate about this. President Biden is not enforcing immigration laws. If this is not an impeachable offense—willfully flouting the law—then what is? Why is it not a big issue in the national media?

It is not an issue for the same reason that the Hunter Biden taking money from the Russians and Chinese was not an issue in the campaign: The mainstream media is blacking it out. Indeed, emails prove that Hunter Biden was selling influence: access to his father. The mainstream media, in ignoring what is happening on the border today is doing the same thing it did last year: Covering up any and all stories that might make Joe Biden and his family look bad.

Biden’s Ills?

And, by the way, one doesn’t have to discuss the Biden disasters, to talk about bad things happening: He seems to be feeling his age. If you look at his presidential schedule day after day you notice that the 78-year-old Biden hardly does anything.

Seeing him getting confused on which entrance to use at the White House and getting the names wrong of his cabinet, I am reminded of the words of the great French leader Charles de Gaulle.

“Old age,” he said, “is a ship wreck.” Our nation under President Biden and whoever is advising (directing?) him is headed for several wrecks. That’s unless Americans insist that the nation actually must have a president.
